Ceilidh in Extremadura

Ceilidh 2015 Cacéres

On 23 January 2015 Prize English held a "CEILIDH" - a typical Scottish dance event in Cáceres.

We want to thank all those who participated in this special night in Cáceres, and we hope you enjoyed one of the most deeply rooted traditions of Scotland "the Ceilidh".

As you know the most important thing in a Ceilidh is having fun and we believe we achieved this objetive. English academy in Cáceres The party was great, and almost all participants were encouraged at some point to try these lively dances, we had some participants who came along wearing their traditional Scottish dress, which made it the most original occasion and gave us the feeling of being in the highlands.

Also at the party we raffled some typical items of Scotland such as malt whiskey and the typical Kilt, that we hope the new owner will wear at the next Celidh we organize. Congratulations to Sonia for winning first prize.

The live music was provided by the duo of Emma and Fernanda, it was very special and made the Ceilidh most authentic.

As in any Ceilidh, our Ceilidh was a party in which we gathered to dance and have a few beers at the pace of the famous music from the Scottische, the Gay Gordons, the Dashing White Sergeant or Strip the Willow. People laughed out loud as they swung each other around and followed the steps of these well established dances.

We hope to have another Ceilidh in the future, as many of those who enjoyed the night with us have requested. to get even closer to Scottish culture and customs.
