HUMANISING TESTING in Galway

Target audience

This course is suitable for both experienced and inexperienced teachers and teacher trainers.

You need an Intermediate (B2) level of English or above to participate in this course.

Course summary

In this one-week course we will investigate different forms of assessment and different types of tests.

We will examine the features of a good, valid test, in accordance with the principles of humanistic teaching, but also in agreement with school curricula and official exam requirements.

Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with a number of tools for test development, develop and modify  different types of tests and use their potential to enhance learning and motivation.

The University of Galway is an internationally focused university with a grand campus located 5 kilometres east from Limerick city centre. The beautiful Shannon river runs through what is widely known as one of the most environmentally friendly campuses in the world.
