This Teachers Refresher and Methodology Course in Galway is aimed at teachers working in Primary and Secondary Education.
This English course is for non-native English teachers with experience in the teaching of English either as a secondary school subject or as an EFL subject.
The course is 20 hours in class per week plus the cultural activity programme.
These hours are dedicated to developping Methodology for teachers as well as increasing fluency in the language especially with the purpose of teaching the subject in mind.
The objectives of the course are to bring teaching methods up to date by implementing new ideas and activities to be developed in class, by looking at what we do in class and sharing our practice to learn and develop together with colleagues from other parts of the world.
There is also considerable amount of work based on Irish heritage and culture.
On this course participants have the double benefit of improving their English level in the four skill areas, as well as finding new approaches to course books and adaptation of activities, through reflection on current practice and the introduction of new tendencies in education with the aim of adapting the teaching of English to the needs of the pupils, create and adapt exercises from text books as well as activities with different objectives and learning levels, and to encourage independent and autonomous learning styles in education.

Our Prize English IH school in Galway is a boutique center for teacher training and language courses.
Founded in 2015 by Mary Grennan, we are located on Eyre Square in Galway city center in a beautiful 18th century building.
As we are a Cambridge CELTA Teacher Training Centre, we train our own teachers.
Our teachers are experts in preparing students for IELTS, Cambridge First and Advanced, TIE and OET preparation.
We have biweekly professional development sessions for our teachers and also collaborate with teachers from around the world on webinars and academic meetings, which help our teachers become proficient by offering different types of lessons and developing new materials.
We offer courses for adults throughout the year, courses for teachers and young people in summer.
We are an authorised centre for the following examinations: International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS), Cambridge First and Advanced, Trinity College London, Occupational English Test, Test of Interactive English (TIE), Cambridge CELTA and DELTA.
